Overview
Our Online Geography E-Learning Course is the international version of IGCSE. The objective of this course is to broaden your knowledge and understanding of geographical concepts. The students learn the relevance of these concepts in the world. The student will learn about different views and approaches to global issues. They will also understand the importance of creating a sustainable future.
This online course will enable students to: - Understand the fundamental building blocks of geographical knowledge
- Engage in geographical enquiry to develop as effective learners, reflective and critical thinkers that understand the application of these concepts to our changing world
- Develop their knowledge of geographical concepts and understand the application of these concepts to our changing world
- Appreciate the importance of the location of places and environments from a local to global scale

- Develop and apply practical geographical enquiry skills
- Embark on geographical investigations that involves use of both primary and secondary data collection and presentation, analysis and drawing conclusions
- Develop and apply the acquired learning to real world situation through fieldwork
- Develop awareness of issues facing the world and be familiar with the need for a sustainable future.

- The Natural Environment
- Complete two of the three topics:
- River environments
- Coastal environments
- Hazardous environments
- People and their Environments
- Complete two of the three topics:
- Economic activity and energy
- Ecosystems and rural environments
- Urban environments
- Practical Geographical Enquiry
- The development of practical geographical enquiry skills related to the investigation of each selected topic from Sections A and B.
- Global Issues
- Complete one of the three topics:
- Fragile environments
- Globalisation and migration
- Development and human welfare
During this course you will use a mixture of lessons, activities, core reading and assessments.
Awarding Body Information
Our Online GCSE Geography Course is written to the Edexcel IGCSE Geography syllabus (4GE0). The International GCSE is an exact equivalent to the standard GCSE, more information on which can be found on the Edexcel IGCSE page.
Assessment
As part of your Online GCSE Geography E-Learning Course you will be subject to Formative and Summative Assessments that are used to evaluate your progress.
- Formative Assessment including: Activities, Multiple Choice Assessment, Short Answer and tutor marked Mock Exam.
- Summative Assessment - Final Exam sat over 2 papers.
These assessments are used to prepare you for the Final Examination set by Edexcel.
Examinations
Exams are held twice a year: January and May/June. Exam timetables are published 12 months in advance and are available upon request.
Fees
