GCSE
In the UK secondary school
students between the ages of 14-16 take
the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE). The University of
Cambridge International Examination (CIE) developed the IGCSE, which is the
international version of GCSE. The IGCSE certification is offered as a
qualification by CIE and Edexcel International.
GCSE or IGCSE courses can be
taken in a range of subjects. Study of selected subjects starts at the beginning
of Year 10 (age 14-15), and final examinations normally take place at the end
of Year 11 (age 15-16).
